Vanderlande has been awarded a contract to install a new baggage handling solution at Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands.

Featuring automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology and a self-bag drop solution, the new baggage handling system offers fast and flexible control of passenger luggage.

Spanish airport operator Aena has selected CANARD Drones to conduct inspection and calibration of precision approach path indicator (PAPI) and navigation aid (NavAid) systems at seven airports.

CANARD will deploy its remote piloted aircraft to perform PAPI and NavAid calibrations to ensure safe operation of aircraft.

Indra will deploy a primary radar and an enhanced mode S secondary surveillance radar to support en-route, approach and landing operations.

The new radars will provide enhanced air traffic surveillance even in adverse weather conditions.

SITA, a provider of air transportation and information technology services, and Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Qatar have executed a memorandum of understanding to evaluate processing solutions at HIA.

The partners will collaborate to evaluate the functioning of robots for passenger facilitation, blockchain technology, and identity management solutions using biometrics at the airport.

SITA will supply and install boarding pass verification e-gates and up to 62 common-use check-in kiosks at the airport, as part of the deal.
