GMR Infrastructure has been appointed to construct the $446.66m (Rs30bn) Mopa Greenfield Airport, the second airport in Goa, India.

GMR, which offered a revenue share of up to 37% to Goa government, has won the bid over Essel Infraprojects and the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which offered 27% and 32.31% share respectively.

The contract includes a four-decade concession period, which is extendable for two more decades.

Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS), an air navigation service provider based in Latvia, has been appointed to deliver aeronautical fixed telecommunication network / aeronautical message handling system (AFTN / AMHS) system operator services for Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS).

"LGS will also offer remote operation services for the EANS communication centre."

The AFTN / AMHS ground-ground communication networks transmit air navigation information, such as flight plans, emergency messages or meteorological data, between air navigation service providers and organisations.

As a part of the contract, LGS will also offer remote operation services for the EANS communication centre.

Hong Kong Airlines has signed a new code-share partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines, the national flag carrier airline of Brunei Darussalam, in order to provide its customers with enhanced air transport connections in Asia.

Following the agreement, Hong Kong Airlines will place its HX code on Royal Brunei's daily flights between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan, while the latter will place its BI code on the former's daily flights between Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan.

Flight tickets between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan can be purchased from 8 September 2016, while tickets to Japan via Hong Kong from Bandar Seri Begawan will be on sale from November.
