Avianca the national airline of Colombia, has entered a unilateral code-share partnership with US-based Silver Airways to offer more services in Florida.

Under the agreement, Avianca will place its code on Silver Airways flights operating from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, Orlando, Tallahassee and Tampa; from Orlando to Key West, Pensacola and Tallahassee; and from Tallahassee to Tampa.

Malaysia’s low-cost carrier Malindo Airways and Turkish Airlines have entered an interline partnership to enhance services for passengers and expand into new markets, such as Europe.

The European Investment Bank has approved a €30m ($33.7m) grant for security improvements at Vilnius Airport in Lithuania.

The grant, which has terms lasting 15 years, constitutes roughly 43% of the total project cost of €69m ($77.51m). The loan will be guaranteed by the European Fund for Strategic Investments.

Both companies will exchange codes on each others flights, which will provide passengers with direct baggage check-in and air miles.

Etihad will place its code on Avianca’s domestic flights, while Avianca’s code will be included on Etihad flights between Abu Dhabi and Sao Paulo.

Virgin Australia Holdings (VAH) has announced a public offering of its shares to raise A$852m ($627.88m).

Priced at A$0.21 ($0.15) each, the shares will be issued to shareholders in one non-renounceable pro-rata entitlement offer, for which Singapore Airlines, Hainan HNA Innovation Ventures, Virgin Group, Nanshan Group Corporation and Air New Zealand Limited have made binding agreements.
