Boeing and SELEX Systemi Integrati of Italy have signed a memorandum of collaboration to ensure the compatibility of global air traffic management (ATM) systems.
Both companies will cooperate according to the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programme and the US Next Generation Air Transportation (NextGen) programme.
The companies will work to establish common standards to harmonise various ATM systems and ensure that aircraft can fly in all regions of the world.
Other countries, including the US and Europe, are undergoing major programmes to modernise their ATM systems.
