The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has received consent from Irish Transport Minister Noel Dempsey to operate Dublin Airport's new Terminal 2 in the Republic of Ireland.
DAA will run the terminal in line with cost targets set by the Commission for Aviation Regulation (CAR) last year.
The authority has been given three months to confirm that it can meet the cost parameters specified by CAR.
DAA chief executive Declan Collier said the authority would now work to try and meet the criteria stipulated by the minister, and that it was committed to responding to him within the three-month period.
