Sydney Airport's passenger traffic rose by 5.9% year on year to three million in January 2010, according to the MAp Airports Traffic January 2010 report.
Sydney Airport's domestic passenger traffic rose 2.7% to 1.9 million, while international traffic rose by 11.5% to 1.1 million in January.
According to MAp Airports, the majority of Sydney Airport's international passengers arrived from Korea, the US and France.
MAp's CEO Kerrie Mather said Australia's new air services agreements with China and the United Arab Emirates would help Sydney Airport's growth.
