The World Bank has recently approved a loan of $280m to support the second terminal building (TB2) of the Cairo Airport development project (CADP).
The first phase of the project will include rehabilitation and expansion of TB2 at Cairo International Airport.
The second phase of the project will involve technical assistance and studies to strengthen the institutional capacity of the sector's institutions.
The construction of a new terminal on the site of the existing TB2 will increase capacity to 7.5 million passengers per annum and increase the overall capacity of the airport to 25 million passengers a year.
