Northrop Grumman is to provide Kazaeronavigatsia, Kazakhstan's national air navigation services provider, with its enhanced terminal voice switch (ETVS) system.
Under the terms of the new contract, Northrop will deliver seven ETVS systems to Advantek International in July 2010.
The ETVS will act as the primary communications link between air traffic controllers and aircrews onboard commercial aircraft.
The system is designed to provide air traffic control (ATC) with mission-critical communications, superior voice quality, non-blocking access to all data channels and a net-centric-based system control terminal.
The ETVS features air-to-ground and ground-to-ground access, full conferencing and voice-over-internet protocol.
The system also includes extensive redundancy elements and built-in diagnostics designed for trouble-free reconfiguration, expansion and maintenance.
