South Africa will see an increase in its international traffic in the next 20 years, according to the 2010 global market forecast by Airbus.
Out of the top ten international air traffic growth markets featured in the report, South Africa and the Middle East ranked sixth, South Africa and China eighth, and South Africa and North Africa ninth.
According to Engineering News, Airbus has predicted that the South Africa and Middle East route will grow by 9.1%, the South Africa and China route by 8.7%, and the South Africa and North Africa route by 8.6%.
Airbus expects international traffic in South Africa to rise due to emerging markets and improving trade relations between the country and North African nations.
