Cardiff Airport in the UK has unveiled plans for the proposed redevelopment of its terminal building as part of a £15m investment strategy to upgrade facilities at the airport.
The £5m redesign has reached the planning stage. It is expected to be submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council soon.
The plan involves extending the front portion of the terminal, and redesigning and landscaping its approach area.
A link to connect the arrivals and departures halls, and new food and retail services will also be provided.
The security control point to access the departures lounge will be relocated to the first floor above the existing arrivals hall.
Work is expected to begin later this year and will be inline with stringent security regulations.
The terminal development programme also intends to increase commercial operations at the airport.
