A new biometric airport security system aimed at reducing intrusive security checks has been unveiled in Israel.
The system will allow passengers to use smartcards, which contain their photo, fingerprints and personal details.
The biometric scanners are fitted with cameras that take a picture of passengers and compare it to the image on the card. Passengers then have to answer basic security questions on the screen, while being observed by security staff who will also observe body language.
Foreign passengers will also be allowed to register with the system.
The technology, which has been developed in Israel, is currently being tested at Ben Gurion International Airport.
If the trial period is successful the technology will be used at all Israeli border crossings next year.
