Iraqi Government Awards Contract for New Airport

AƩroports de Paris has been awarded a $42.5m contract by the Iraqi Government to help compile plans to build a new international airport in Iraq.

The proposed site for the airport will be located near the three provinces of Kerbala, Najaf and Hilla.

It is expected to open within the next three to five years and will accommodate five million passengers a year, which could rise to 35 million a year in the future.
