Northwest Moves to E-Boarding Pass

29 May 2008

UK technology company Mobiqa and Northwest Airlines are launching a trial of paperless boarding passes to allow customers to use their mobile phones and other hand-held devices for boarding.

The e-boarding pass will be offered to customers travelling on non-stop flights from Indianapolis to cities within the US when checking in at nwa.com using a PC or a hand-held mobile device.

The e-boarding pass incorporates passenger travel details on an industry standard barcode that is sent directly to mobiles etc as an MMS, email or WAP Push / link message.
