Heathrow Worst European Airport for Delays

06 September 2007

Passengers at Heathrow Airport regularly face 30min delays, a recent report by the Association of European Airlines shows.

According to the report, more than 30% of Heathrow departures and 25% of Gatwick departures left over 15mins behind schedule.

On average, passengers should expect delays of 30.9mins, due to air traffic control issues, mechanical failure and the late arrival of other flights.

Brussels Airport had the lowest percentage of late flights, at 15.5%, but when there is a delay passengers have an average wait of 37.8mins.
