The Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) of Bahamas has to date awarded contracts worth $32m to local businesses for work on Lynden Pindling International Airport's (LPIA) new international arrivals hall.
NAD will again select Ledcor Construction and its Bahamian affiliate Woselee Construction as general contractors. Both companies carried out stage one of the project.
Stage two of the $409m airport redevelopment project began back in March, with selective demolition of the old US departures terminal.
The 226,000ft² international arrivals terminal and pier is scheduled to be open in autumn 2012 and is being built at a cost of $129m.
The third and final stage of LPIA's redevelopment involves the construction of a new domestic/international departures and a new domestic arrivals terminal at a projected cost of $84m.
