UN Climate Change Conference in December 2009: Copenhagen Accord

Airports around the world are installing eco-friendly measures as airlines try to cut down on their carbon footprints with green technology. The industry is, as yet, not legally bound to make these changes but when global leaders met in December 2009 pressure mounted on all industries to cut their greenhouse emissions.

Instead of forming a global contract on how to do this, as many hoped, global leaders at the UN Climate Change Conference agreed on the Copenhagen Accord, which stresses the importance of keeping the global temperature rise below the 2°C.
