Home White Papers Airport Security DHS Information Sharing and Access Agreements
This white paper outlines the recommendations regarding Department of Homeland Security (DHS) information sharing agreements with external organisations from the Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee to the secretary and chief privacy officer of the DHS.
The recommendations are reflective of the DHS's fair information practice principles policy framework. The committee believes that their implementation will help strengthen the department's ability to share information and offer privacy protection.
The Committee's charter under the Federal Advisory Committee Act is to provide advice on various issues in the DHS that relate to personally identifiable information (PII), data integrity and other privacy-related issues. The advisory committee convened a public meeting on 14 May 2009, in Washington, DC, to deliberate and adopt these recommendations.
