Framework Document for India's Ministry of Civil Aviation 2009-2010

11 March 2010

The framework for India's Civil Aviation aims to ensure access to secure and affordable air services throughout the civil aviation infrastructure. It tabulates the various measures and targets for achieving world class aviation infrastructure through modernisation, expansion and creation of airports.

It looks into ways of gaining cost-effective air services that optimise passenger and cargo traffic, including restructuring the Bureau of Civil Aviation.

In addition, the framework provides direction on creating adequate and viable national and international connectivity that includes augmenting helicopter services and establishing a heliport. The suggested changes also comprise training and restructuring of Air India for better fleet utilisation.
