Systems Interface Limited has been awarded a turnkey contract to supply, install and commission a DVOR/DME System at Weston Airport, located just west of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.

The equipment selected by Systems Interface to meet the operational requirement is the Fernau 2020 DME and AMS (ASII) DVOR System.

The contract schedule is a very tight programme. One of the reasons for Systems Interface selection is their reputation and ability to deliver such a project on time, in budget and to a high standard. The goal set by the airport owner, Jim Mansfield, is to achieve complete supply, installation and commissioning of the equipment by the end of August 2004. Systems Interface gained the contract through Cyrrus Associates Limited who are providing operational and technical support to the developing airport at Weston.

A spokesman for Cyrrus Associates said: “We appreciated that as the timescales were tight this was a critical element in deciding who in the market place would be able to deliver rather than make promises. Systems Interface come highly recommended and have a good reputation on delivery. We look forward very much to working with them on this important project which will enable safer navigation to and from Weston Airport.”

This contract is part of a major success story for Systems Interface worldwide, which includes the supply and installation of ILSs, DVORs, NDBs, PAPIs, DMEs and Fibre Optic Networks with many of the contracts being complete Turnkey solutions.
