ATC upgrade goes 'LIVE' at Belfast City Airport

The partnership between System Interface Limited and Frequentis GmbH, which has delivered a full upgrade of ATC facilities at Belfast City Airport has been a resounding success. Delivered on time and in budget, a philosophy of both companies. The project was successfully handed over to Belfast City Airport and went Operational in early June 2005.
The project was for the upgrading of the ATC tower systems and the approach radar suite. Systems Interface provided the turnkey Project Management, installation, commissioning which included replacement control desks, Jotron Transmitters and Receivers, Ricochet Voice Recorder and the latest Frequentis 3025 Voice switch and Frequentis RESQ emergency Voice Switch. Systems Interface also produced the Transition Plan and Safety Case for the project.
Alan Young Manager of Air Traffic Services Belfast City Airport stated "Systems Interface completed this task on time and within budget. Any issues during the installation and commissioning phase of the project were dealt with efficiently and effectively. We were expecting this project to be a difficult task and have been very impressed and satisfied with the professionalism shown by all concerned."
