24 December 2008

Gatineau, QC, Canada – SolaCom Technologies, a communications solution company that enables interoperability over any network infrastructure, has announced that it has been awarded the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce’s Excelor Award for best medium-sized business for 2008.

SolaCom is a four-time winner of an Excelor having recently won in 2006 for its technological innovation. SolaCom also took home Excelor awards in 2001 and 2003 for its achievement in exporting. The award was presented at a gala dinner honoring the Gatineau-area’s top businesses for 2008.

This is SolaCom’s second award in a month. In November, SolaCom was named the winner of the Charles E Varnell Memorial award at the 53rd Annual ATCA Conference and Exposition in Washington DC. The Charles E Varnell award is presented every year to a business whose outstanding achievement and / or contribution has added to the quality, safety or efficiency of the air traffic control industry.

"2008 has been an award-winning year for us and we are honored and humbled to have been given these prestigious awards," said Franz Plangger, president and CEO of SolaCom. "We are very proud to be recognized by the air traffic control industry and by our Chamber of Commerce for our business performance. Our employees have worked very hard this year and these awards are really because of them, their focus and their unyielding determination to succeed."
