SolaCom - Critical Communication SystemsSolaCom Technologies (formerly CML ATC) delivers innovative voice communication solutions for mission-critical communication applications. As proven with the FS21 system for Lockheed Martin, where SolaCom provided a voice communication solution to network 577 positions in 20 FAA flight services stations across the United States, we have the know-how and agility to get the right solution to our customers on time and on budget. SolaCom Technologies is certified to the ISO 9001:2000 standard. SolaCom is also registered with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as an approved supplier of voice communications control systems and digital voice recording and playback systems for all air traffic control applications. LIBERTY-STAR VOICE COMMUNICATION CONTROL SYSTEMSolaCom's Liberty-STAR Voice Communication Control System (VCCS) uses a modular, open-platform with commercial-off-the-shelf hardware, offering a reliable, scalable solution focused on the requirements of air traffic communications. Integrated voice recording and weather monitoring provide a cost-effective, proven and end-to-end solution. SolaCom's flexible management style, versatile system architecture, and dedicated personnel have made the company the choice of major integrators, government organisations and end-users worldwide. COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORKSolaCom systems are deployed in the first nationwide, networked communication system in the US. More than 570 flight service specialist positions across the continental US, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are connected in the world's largest 'seamless adaptive communications' system for air transportation. SolaCom has delivered a solution which enables resources to be used from any site, so flight service specialists can communicate flight plan information regardless of their physical location. The solution – which was delivered on-time and on-spec – is a showcase of what the FAA in envisioning for its next-generation air-transportation system. The FS21 is operated by Lockheed Martin for the FAA. BACK-UP COMMUNICATION SYSTEMNAV CANADA manages the second largest airspace in the world. Despite over 10 million annual aircraft movements, the company maintains one of the world's best safety records. This is because NAV CANADA uses only the most reliable sources of technology, including SolaCom's Back-Up Communication System (BUCS). The BUCS is unique in that it is engineered to take over communication on a progressive, position-by-position basis if the main Voice Communication Control System (VCCS) fails. For this programme, 12 large-scale Liberty-STAR network switches are installed in Area Control Centres (ACC), Terminal Control Units (TCU) and large Control Towers (CT) across Canada. VOICE COMMUNICATION CONTROL SYSTEMSSolaCom was selected by Rockwell Collins as the voice communication control system for SCOPE Command based on its flexibility and reliability. SCOPE Command is a highly automated, High-Frequency (HF) communication system that links US Air Force communication, command and control (C3) functions with globally deployed strategic and tactical airborne platforms. SCOPE Command is a high-reliability and cost-effective system based on COTS / NDI equipment where SolaCom plays a major role. The Liberty-STAR is deployed to form a digital communication backbone to span the globe, allowing military assets to be controlled from global sites and / or from within strategic command in the US. All interfaces used in the SCOPE Command project have successfully undergone Joint Interoperability Test Certification (JITC) by the US DoD. SolaCom's VCCS are deployed in 26 countries for:
SolaCom systems have been proven success in all environmental conditions. From the frigid cold of McMurdo Station in Antarctica to the sweltering heat of Nigeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Bahamas or Baghdad, SolaCom's customers know they can count on us as their partner in critical communications.
