The ATM Radar Emergency System, ARES, supplied and installed by Si ATM, has been in operational use by Croatia Control since February 2014. Si ATM and Croatia Control Ltd signed a contract in October 2012 for the Supply and Installation of ARES.
ARES encompasses five operational (ONL) and one test (TST) configuration, and is integrated with the ATM System (COOPANS / Thales) as its backup / emergency system.
Independent ONL systems are installed in Zagreb, Pula, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik, in total more than 60 positions. The ARES system is based on the Si ATM operational system, with an adapted HMI that resembles the main system’s for easy access by the controllers.
This ATM Radar Emergency System is the second contract won by Si ATM for back-up systems, after the Hong Kong Ultimate Fallback System (fallback system for Raytheon’s main system) which was delivered in 2013.
