C4i - Switchplus-Based Command, Control and Communication Systems

C4i is an experienced turnkey communication systems supplier and integrator. We are capable of maintaining communication, command and control systems for airport, defence (air force, army and navy) and civilian customers around the world.

C4i has in-house hardware and software design, development and manufacturing capability. Our base product is the Switchplus® digital voice and data switch, which has been used in various airport applications.

SWITCHPLUS DIGITAL VOICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

Switchplus Voice Communications Systems (VCS) consist of two main elements - the Switchplus digital voice and data switch and a touchscreen-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) with customisable Graphical User Interface (GUI). These are coupled to communication equipment, such as radios, PABXs, intercoms and direct telephones, to form total communications systems.

The C4i-developed switch has open systems architecture, using industry standard interfaces and protocols, such as X.21, X.25, G.703, Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, and it supports VOIP and TDM over IP. This allows for distributed architecture that places the correct equipment in the correct location to achieve an efficient and cost-effective solution.

The implementation of radio communications specific commands, such as individual PTT, carrier-detect indication, main/standby changeover, retransmission, voting and remote control, are core features of the product.

VOICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS FOR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL

The Switchplus C2AT Voice Communication System (VCS) is an advanced digital voice communications system designed specifically for air traffic control. The primary focus of the system is reliability and ease-of-use for both operators and maintenance personnel.

Standard features include:

  • Hot swappable modules
  • On-line configuration management
  • Position transfer and split position mode
  • Priority override
  • Intercom, hotline and SELCAL
  • Operator selectable split/combined headset audio

COMMUNICATIONS, FIRE ALARM MONITORING AND EMERGENCY CONTROL SYSTEM

ALARMON is the most advanced communications, fire alarm monitoring and emergency control system available today. The touchscreen interface provides direct operator interaction with access to all functions of the ALARMON system. The system displays to the operator a series of prompts indicating the procedure to be followed in accordance with a pre-determined sequence.

The system provides total alarm monitoring, computerised communications operational procedures, vehicles and staff control and access to hazardous chemical information comprehensive event logging.

CRASH ALARM AND ALERT ACTIVATION MONITORING

The communications control system provides crash alarm and alert activation monitoring. It allows you to access and initiate all fire lines, direct intercom lines and PABX lines. An on-screen telephone directory provides speed dialling and automatic or manual number entry, and access to the fire station public address system is facilitated.

An operations control system encompasses procedural control, resource management and information access functions. The operations control system provides:

  • Automatic logging of journal entries
  • Selection and logging of duty operator
  • Selection and logging of duty crew
  • Movement of staff and vehicles including their availability and status
  • Sequential prompts for all standard operational turnouts
  • Access to a chemical database for hazardous chemical incidents
  • System log review facility.

ALARM MONITORING

The alarm monitoring screen provides the visual status of all alarms monitored. An alarm occurrence is indicated by a user-defined flashing panel which, when acknowledged, provides additional information. Alarm fault indication is also provided.

The alarm monitoring system:

  • Automatically displays relevant alert information
  • Displays high resolution crash maps and building plans
  • Simulates alarms and faults for operator training
  • Prints alarm information to printers in the fire station and vehicle bays
  • Prints alarm and fault information to a remote monitoring site when the fire station is unattended

REMOTE RADIO CONTROL AND MONITORING

C4i has a fully developed software library supporting the remote control and monitoring of multi-vendor radio equipment and accessories at manned or unmanned sites through PC based System Management Facility (SMF) or alternatively integrated on the operator touchscreen of a corresponding Switchplus system.
