SMARTGLOBE AERONAUTICAL CHARTING SYSTEM (ACS): HIGH-END (AIP) CHART PRODUCTION

The smartGlobe aeronautical charting system allows the generation and maintenance of charts and aeronautical data using a single source. This way you can be sure that every chart is created using the exact same data.

Aeronautical data such as airports, navigation aids, airways and procedures can be generated automatically from the aeronautical database. Objects that are placed in a chart stay connected with the database, allowing you to check the chart against the database at any time by simply pointing and clicking the object within the chart.

Objects are placed at accurate locations, tracks and distances using the smartGlobe projection tools. SmartGlobe products are based on the MicroStation CAD engine from Bentley Inc.

SMARTGLOBE WEB DATA MANAGER (WDM): WEB CHARTING AND ON-LINE DATA MANAGEMENT

The smartGlobe Web Data Manager is a web application for the retrieval, visualisation and maintenance of aeronautical (static) data. It is a web application based on the Oracle XML Development Kit (XDK) and Adobe Simple Vector Graphics (SVG).

Static data stored in an oracle (spatial) database can be retrieved in the form of an HTML page with embedded SVG graphics. Web Data Manager runs in a standard Internet Explorer 6.0 browser, using the free Adobe SVG plug-in. Using this technology Web Data Manager allows you to retrieve static data from the database using spatial filters and display the retrieved data in the form of a table list or chart.

SMARTGLOBE MAPTRANS: HYDROGRAPHIC AND TOPOGRAPHIC DATA TRANSFORMATION

MapTrans is a MDL map conversion utility. It can be used to generate maps from a template map in a fixed projection. The target map is brought into the projection of a chart produced with smartGlobe, the NedGraphics aviation solutions chart production tool. The resulting map can be used to superimpose geographical data over aeronautical data when used together with smartGlobe.
