NAVCANatm, a division of NAV CANADA and provider of advanced air traffic management (ATM) solutions, has announced an agreement to partner with NBP to integrate its airfield ground lighting technology into the NAVCANsuite tower automation system.

By integrating the NBP Integrated Control and Monitor System (ICMS) supplied by NBP into NAVCANsuite, controllers can have immediate access to an advanced airfield lighting control interface, easily configurable to their requirements. Controls will be accessed on a touch screen, ensuring optimal safety and efficiency advantages, while offering high quality energy efficient lighting and control.

"With ATC operations becoming increasingly more complex, there are distinct advantages to integrating airfield lighting control and monitor tools with the advanced functionality of NAVCANsuite products, " said Rudy Kellar, Executive Vice President, Service Delivery, NAV CANADA. "Our partnership with NBP will allow us to offer these two leading-edge products, to improve the efficiency and safety of service delivery in a flexible manner."

"With the continued requirement to reduce the footprint of equipment in control towers NBPs integration of ICMS with NAVCANsuite reduces the number of displays in control TWRs by amalgamating functions," said Steve Ozuna CEO of NBP. "We are pleased to work with NAV CANADA to be able to provide this advanced NowGen solution to the aviation marketplace."

NAVCANsuite integrated Air Traffic Control (ATC) products combine flight, surveillance and operational data, providing fast, reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal information. NAVCANatm technology is in operation at more than 70 Canadian sites, and has been adopted internationally by the United Kingdom, Denmark, Australia, the Netherland Antilles, Dubai and Hong Kong.

NBP airfield lighting solutions are fully Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) compliant, and are in operation at 1000s of airports in the US with ICMS installed in 17 major air traffic control towers in the United States. The company offers highly reliable, energy efficient LED lighting and power solutions for visual guidance.
