ICC has announced significant increases in the number of Apple 30in Cinema Displays deployed to work with their ATRAK® suite of ATC applications. Initially used for their ATRAK Information Management System (IMS), ICC received such a positive response from air traffic controllers using the Apple displays that they have now implemented them across a number of other ATRAK applications. These include ATRAK-IMS PLUS® (consolidated executive, planning and information management system), ATRAK-BYPASS® (radar fallback system) as well as ATRAK-FLT-BRIEF® (flight briefing / planning system) amongst others.
ICC selected the Apple display following extensive testing and trials to ensure that the quality and resolution of the display met the demanding and precise needs of the air traffic controller. With a 30in (29.7in viewable) display, 2560 x 1600 optimal resolution and 16.7 million colours the Apple display offers exceptional quality and value.
"ICC's use of the Apple Cinema Display in the ATC industry is an exciting implementation of Apple's flagship display product in the most demanding of operational environments", stated George Parobek, managing director at ICC. "We and our clients have felt sufficiently confident in the Apple display to expand its use across a number of ATRAK applications, demonstrating that ICC and Apple can deliver innovative, high quality ATC solutions that meet the most demanding of requirements in a cost-effective package".
ICC's ATRAK solutions and Apple displays can be seen at ATC Maastricht 2007, MECC Maastricht, Holland from the 13th to 15th February 2007 at stand no.516.
