En-Route Charging System for the Irish Aviation Authority

11 October 2005

DSE A/S has been awarded the contract for an en-route charging system to the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). The contract comprises design, supply and installation of a SERIS Statistics, Economics and Route Charges Information System for registration of route- and terminal charges at IAA.

SERIS is a state-of-the art system offering automatic registration of route and terminal charges, several powerful analysis/statistical features as well as management decision tools.

SERIS' ATC Statistical Database is an indispensable tool offering unequalled possibilities for derivation of statistics and financial/accounting information.

The graphical user interface and the ATC statistical module have been customised to meet the specific needs and requirements of IAA. The system can be used by air traffic accounting personnel for financial revenue registration, validation, billing, and status purposes. The system may also be used by air traffic controllers for operational use and airport/airspace decision-makers for future prognostics and detailed business planning.

The approach of DSE (A/S) to a contract of this nature is based on partnership rather than an ordinary client/supplier relationship to provide IAA with the highest benefit of the investment. SERIS is developed in close co-operation with the Danish Air Navigation Provider, Naviair, and is based on years of operational experience.

The contract with the IAA is part of DSE's long-term strategy to market SERIS with airports and air navigation service providers worldwide.

SERIS is interfaced with the IAA's Air Traffic Management (ATM) system, CAIRDE 2000, a Thales Eurocat 2000 System.
