Beel Technologies - Secondary Surveillance Monitoring Systems

Beel Technologies is a Canadian company certified to ISO 9001-2000. The company has more than 15 years' experience in the design and manufacture of specialized equipment for Air Traffic Control (ATC) customers worldwide. Our operation is based just outside of Montreal, Canada.

Our SSR monitors (test transponders) are used around the world to optimize the performance of any secondary surveillance radar. We also design and build Mode S dataloggers and customized MTI markers for primary (S-band) radars.

ATC professionals in over 60 countries rely on Beel equipment to continuously verify the integrity and accuracy of their radar systems. Beel Technologies' equipment is designed for seamless integration with radar systems from any manufacturer, easy installation, and minimal maintenance.

SSR MONITORS

The MasterPoint series meets the requirements for Elementary Level Surveillance (ELS) or Enhanced Level Surveillance (EHS). Primepoint series monitors operate in mode S level 1 or mode 3/A, C.

Both series can be configured for single or dual channel operation and can be ordered housed in either a 19in rack-mountable chassis for installation indoors, or in a suitable IP rated enclosure for outdoor installations.

Beel SSR monitors optimize the performance of SSR systems; all models provide the following standard features:

MASTERPOINT SERIES SSR MONITORS

MasterPoint S3 secondary surveillance radar monitors feature:

• Mode S level 3 (enhanced level surveillance)
• Single or dual channel capability
• Indoor / outdoor models

Additional features include true track angle, true airspeed, ground speed, roll angle and vertical rate.

MasterPoint S2 secondary surveillance radar monitors feature:

• Mode S level 2 (elementary level surveillance)
• Single or dual channel capability
• Indoor / outdoor models

Additional features include full mode S level 2 operation plus datalink, inter-mode and formats 0, 4, 5, 11, 20, 21; and Flight ID entry at the front panel.

PRIMEPOINT SERIES SSR MONITORS

PrimePoint S1 secondary surveillance radar monitors feature:

• Mode S level 1 surveillance
• Single or dual channel capability
• Indoor / outdoor models

Additional features include mode S level 1 operation plus datalink, inter-mode and formats 0, 4, 5 and 11.

PrimePoint 3AC secondary surveillance radar monitors feature:

• Mode 3/A, C level surveillance
• Single or dual channel capability
• Indoor / outdoor models

S-BAND MTI MARKERS

The ActivMark provides ATC personnel with a reference point indication on the radar screen (in spite of MTI processing). The reference point will correspond with the location of the marked navigation hazard (i.e. mountain, tower, tall building) located in the approach to a runway. Maximum range is 8km. The PassivMark provides the same in the local vicinity of the airport (i.e. runway limit, fuel depot, tower); maximum range is 1.5km.

The Beel ActivMark and PassivMark can also be used to accurately align azimuth and calibrate range for S-band radar sites.

MODE S DATALOGGER

Beel mode S dataloggers record all mode S interrogations from SSR ground stations to airborne transponders and the replies from airborne transponders (optional) to the ground station. The data is time stamped and output to any device for storage.
