Visualization specialist, Barco, has been selected by Tern Systems Inc., Kopavogur, Iceland, to deliver 18 ISONA display stations for the new approach control center at Jeju Airport in the Republic of Korea. With the integration of Barco's fully integrated 2Kx2K ISONA, Tern Systems is able to offer the Korean Civil Aviation Authority a high-quality and powerful network-centric visualization solution.
Barco's ISONA display station was chosen by Tern Systems because of the superior image quality it offers, even in difficult ambient conditions. Furthermore, ISONA's compact form factor and easy network connection to the current ATC system were of overriding importance to Tern Systems. Last but not least, Tern Systems valued Barco's ability to deliver its visualization components on a very short-term basis.
The integrated ISONA display station combines all the proven benefits of Barco's advanced ISIS main display and high-performance VISONA display server in a single physical unit. ISONA features the same 28in 2Kx2K LCD main display as ISIS, which ensures crisp and clear images at all times. The unique architecture of ISONA eliminates the need for graphics generation on the application computer, thus increasing overall performance and generating more freedom for future reconfigurations and updates. In this way, ISONA provides an optimized, cost-effective visualization solution.
First deliveries of Barco's ISONA display stations to Tern Systems are planned for May 2006.
