BAE Systems C-ITS - Air Traffic Control Simulators

BAE Systems C-ITS is a leader in the field of education and training using simulation and e-learning. We develop complex educational solutions and this demands great competence within a number of fields: analysis, system development, computer programming, manuscript writing, documentation, testing, design, pedagogy, imaging, and much more.

DATS AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SIMULATORS

BAE Systems C-ITS has developed and marketed air traffic control simulators since 1994. Our efforts have resulted in a competent and mature system, DATS - Durable Aviation Trainer Solutions.

Provided in a standard PC package, DATS enables multi-location based stationing and accessibility, ensuring anywhere, anytime availability.

A range of air traffic control simulators, usually packaged with much more expensive systems, for the first time are available for standard PC platforms. DATS ATC simulators operate on the commonly used operating systems MS Windows and LINUX. In addition, DATS supports optional integration with knowledge sources and courseware tools as well as interaction with PC-based ATC systems.

DATS ATC RADAR SIMULATOR - AREA AND APPROACH CONTROL SIMULATION

DATS-RADAR is a simulator for area as well as approach-control training. DATS-RADAR can be combined with other products from the DATS product range of aviation-related simulators. DATS-RADAR will interact, share and distribute common data within the DATS simulator community as well as with external ATC systems.

DATS-RADAR can be integrated with existing user hardware or as an alternative can emulate hardware as 'behind glass' images operated via touch displays. In addition, DATS-RADAR has an extensive option program offering most standardized as well as future 3rd generation air traffic control functionality and systems integration.

DATS ATC TOWER SIMULATOR - LOCAL AND GROUND CONTROLLER TRAINING

DATS-TOWER is a simulator for training local and ground controllers in aerodrome control. DATS-TOWER can be combined with other products from the DATS product range of aviation related simulators.

DATS simulators are all produced based on concepts and specifications developed by simulator instructors. DATS-TOWER will interact, share and distribute common data within the DATS simulator community as well as with external systems.

DATS-TOWER can be integrated with real tower hardware, or the simulator can emulate hardware 'behind glass'. The system has an outstanding option program offering most standardized, as well as future 3rd generation, air traffic control functionality and systems integration.

DATSino AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL (ATC) SIMULATOR

Based on DATS, C-ITS has developed DATSino. DATSino is an expandable, basic ATC radar, procedure or tower simulator built on the DATS concept. In its basic version, DATSino radar consists of one controller position and one pilot / exercise leader position. In DATSino tower, a 3D view is added.

DATSino is designed to be expandable in all respects and could be expanded all the way up to a large-scale simulator system. This is possible due to the flexible design.

Since DATSino inherits all the functionality from DATS, it has the stability and maturity of a large simulator. The small format makes it easy to install and also simple to move to new sites.

Included in DATSino are a generic airport and a number of prepared and tested exercises. This makes it possible for the system to be in use from day one. It is also possible to obtain training and on-site support, for both instructors and support personnel.

BAE Systems C-ITS is co-operating with SATSA, the Swedish ATS Academy. In DATSino SATSA has included exercises that are the same as used at SATSA and are the results of several years of development.
