ATC Maastricht 2006: Bigger Than Ever!

ATC Maastricht 2006 was another resounding success, attracting 4,281* ATC / ATM professionals from around the world, with its well-attended seminars, workshops, conference and gala awards ceremony confirming ATC Maastricht 2006 as the most significant global event in the ATC calendar.
A record number of ATC / ATM suppliers were on show - more than 190 exhibitors from 28 countries, up 9% on the year before. The event also welcomed its first ever exhibitors from China, who proved to be a big hit with visitors keen to discover more about what this growing market has to offer. Further Chinese companies are expected to sign up for 2007.
Attendance figures were also up 6% on the previous year. The vast majority of growth came from outside Western Europe. There was a significant increase in the numbers of visitors from Asia, Africa, Middle East / North Africa and North America - underlining the importance of ATC Maastricht on the international stage.
The profile of the registered exhibition visitors was also exceptional, with 15.4% of the visitors ranked as senior management (a 19% increase on 2005) and 6% from general management positions. A further 20% were involved in engineering and 11% were working as air traffic controllers / officers. There was also a 6% increase in attendance from the core audience of air navigation service providers and steady progress in increasing attendance from airlines and military.
Two new workshops for air traffic controllers (Datalink and HMI) were also very popular - attracting more than 100 delegates each. They received high levels of positive feedback for the topical issues covered and excellent organisation.
Exhibitors and visitors alike expressed satisfaction with their experience. 83% of exhibitors rebooked their stands during the 2006 event taking 90% of the available floor space.
