SEDAB - Multi-Purpose NBC Decontamination Systems

SEDAB (Safety Equipment Development AB) specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) mobile multi-purpose decontamination systems. Our products, which include trolley-, trailer- and container-based decontamination units, are commonly used by rescue services and civil defence. They are very well suited for use at airports, large and small, due to their compact size, fast set-up capabilities and high performance.

SEDAB also performs training courses within the field of decontamination, for OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) staff and the Swedish Chemical Support Team and other foreign clients. SEDAB employs only qualified and approved personnel with extensive NBC decontamination backgrounds for these courses.

NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL (NBC) DECONTAMINATION EQUIPMENT

The SEDAB decontamination system offers full mobility and flexibility with high performance. SEDAB systems not only offer an extremely short start-up time to full capacity (maximum 12mins after arrival on-site), but also feature low weight (trailers from 1,500kg) and ease of handling (set up by only two people).

The systems are self-sufficient with regards to electricity, hot water, compressed air and heating, using diesel for heat and power. Rapidly inflatable tents offer shelter for the decontamination process: commonly two 3m x 4m and two larger 6m x 6m units are used.

Water is heated by means of a diesel furnace and then conveyed to the tents and showers. Lighting is conveniently arranged from outside without any installation in the decontamination area.

TROLLEY-BASED DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM (AK1, AK2)

Developed especially for airport and public building use, our trolley-based decontamination system is extremely compact and easy to store. This system is slightly simpler than our trailer and container systems and requires heated water from an outside source. The entire decontamination system can be stored in a standard baggage trolley. It is available with several different tent sizes and shower capabilities to suit the requirements of each customer.

TRAILER-BASED DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM (AT1, AT2, AT3)

The trailer decontamination system is available in several versions depending on the customer's needs with regards to size and capacity. The smaller trailer-based systems can be towed by regular automobiles.

All trailer systems are equipped with the necessary tools to achieve a complete decontamination of casualties and personnel. Included are generator, pumps, tents, portable heaters, necessary lighting, showers, shower basins and self-rising waste water tank with pump.

CONTAINER-BASED DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM (C201, C202)

The container decontamination system is built in a standard ISO type 20ft steel container with a special cargo profile for truck transportation.

The container comprises two compartments: machinery compartment and storage space. A stainless, 3,000l water tank is placed inside the container and allows decontamination to start instantly after arrival on-site. All necessary equipment is stowed in designated shelves for quick access and fast set-up. The container system is completely self-sufficient with regards to hot water and electricity.

BV206 TRACKED VEHICLE SYSTEM FOR CONTAMINATION CONTROL

We can also offer a complete system based on two Alvis Hägglunds BV 206 tracked vehicles. This completely self-contained system allows response teams to access the contaminated scene in rough terrain outside the airport facilities. This ability helps to save lives and also aids in containing the contaminated area to a minimum.
