Raytheon is a technology leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world.

With a history of innovation spanning more than 80 years, Raytheon provides state-of-the-art electronics, mission systems integration, and other capabilities in the areas of sensing, effects, command, control, communications and intelligence systems, as well as a broad range of mission support services. We also support military air traffic control with both in-place and mobile air traffic control systems.

RADAR AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

In airspace management, Raytheon is the world's leading supplier of Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) solutions. The airspace management product line offers a broad range of automation and surveillance systems that are in use today in more than 50 countries around the world. Our systems are supplied to both civil and military markets and consist of:

  • Automation
  • Communication
  • Navigation
  • Surveillance
  • Air traffic management

NAVIGATION AND LANDING SYSTEMS

Raytheon navigation and landing systems enhance the capabilities for all phases of flight in all types of environments. The FAA chose Raytheon as their prime contractor of the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS).

The FAA commissioned WAAS for operational use in the United States on July 10, 2003. It is a safety-critical system that enables the Global Positioning System (GPS) to meet air navigation performance and safety requirements for en route, terminal, non-precision approach and approach with vertical guidance operations.

The Raytheon Service Monitoring System (RSMS) provides Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and other users with the capability to independently monitor the real-time performance of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and its augmentation systems.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL (ATC) INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT

Raytheon has developed and installed ATC systems throughout the international aviation community. Our primary objective is to provide our customers with fast, efficient and on-schedule completion of equipment installation and integration.

AUTOMATION SYSTEMS

Raytheon automation systems are in operation around the world. The FAA Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) is a key element of the FAA and DoD ATC modernization plans. The STARS lite system provides an exciting new low-cost product for use at general aviation airports utilizing the STARS system as its foundation.

AutoTrac is a fully integrated open-architecture system that has evolved from over 30 years of air traffic management experience. TracView is an off-the-shelf air traffic management system designed to meet the needs of small to medium sized towers, approach facilities, and area control centers.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS

A world leader in communications, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management, Raytheon offers air traffic service providers a complete turnkey, low risk, transition solution for CNS and ATM. We design, integrate, install, and manage a range of air traffic control systems that meet the needs and requirements of international customers.

AIRPORT SAFETY AND CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT

Raytheon systems provide enhanced capabilities at airports that improve the safety, efficiency, and capacity for air traffic operations with the following systems:

  • Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS)
  • Low-cost Advanced Surface Movement Radar (ASMR)
  • The Precision Runway Monitor (PRM)

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TRAINING

Raytheon designs, develops, and delivers a full range of formal and informal training courses for the air traffic control community. Our skilled trainers and developers provide complete customized solutions to fit any training need.

TOWER SIMULATION

New standards in control tower training systems are being set today by Raytheon's FIRSTplus™ tower simulator. Detailed computer-generated imagery is complemented by a complete simulator suite that includes student controller, pseudo-pilot and instructor positions.
