Dynasafe Wins Demilitarization Contract

DYNASAFE AB has been awarded a contract by Westinghouse Anniston for a mobile destruction plant to destroy various types of munitions at the U.S. Army’s Anniston Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (ANCDF) in Alabama.

Westinghouse, a part of the Washington Demilitarization Company, which is a subsidiary of URS Corporation, selected the Dynasafe technology because it offers emissions control, but does not require munitions disassembly, and leaves scrap material free from explosives or other organic contamination.

The mobile destruction plant uses Dynasafe’s well established hot detonation technology, which offers high capacity, comforting safety and a low production cost. The main factors behind the cost efficiency of the plant are:

  • Easy to operate using a minimal crew
  • Low production cost for the buyer due to the hot and continuous destruction process
  • No counter charges required

Dynasafe AB is a Swedish engineering company that specializes in techniques for the safe destruction of munitions. Westinghouse Anniston will serve as the operator of the unit at ANCDF.
