AirAccess - Terminal Access Control Systems for Pilots and Staff

AirAccess, in its continuing effort to deliver world-class technology to the aviation industry, would like to introduce their latest innovation, AAq7.

AirAccess has been working with the airports of Australia in delivering technology solutions needed to meet the ever-changing challenges being faced today.

Terminal access control systems

Designed to meet the frustrations experienced at airports in managing the itinerant and general aviation pilots, but just as effective in managing access in general, AirAccess’s AAq7 is a purpose-designed access terminal with a difference.

Built to meet the challenge and designed to maintain the integrity of the airside / landside barrier, AAq7 has been designed ‘from-the-ground- up’ with AirAccess’s unique image capture algorithm to ensure all cards presented are authentic.

Barrier access control for airport staff

Although specifically designed for the itinerant pilot, AAq7 is just at home delivering barrier access control for airport-based staff. With its on-board audit and entry / exit readers utilising most standard magnetic stripe cards (with other technologies under consideration), visiting pilots can gain authorised entry and egress through controlled gates without the requirement for local airport access credentials or assistance.

Airside / landside access control

AAq7’s strength is in delivering controlled management of the important airside / landside barrier’s integrity in a true, secure-access terminal that houses all the features a conventional access control system delivers but has the ability to securely create its own access cards.

Automated airport access control for pilots

The operation of the AAq7 terminal is as simple as it is effective. The process involves presenting an authorised approved credential (for Australia that is the ASIC card or Pilot Licence), entering minimal information on the monoscreen through a hard keypad and identifying the period of access required. Then the user can utilise any magnetic stripe card (such as credit card / club card / loyalty card) and register it. The card will then become the authorised access credential for the period of the stay. From then on, every exit / entry is recorded as a transaction in the in-built audit trail on the AAq7 access terminal.

AirAccess AAq7 technology is not only convenient for visiting pilots but more importantly, it can reduce the inconvenience to airport managers being contacted after hours to provide access.

The AAq7 will be unveiled at the Australian Airports Association Conference and Exhibition being held at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Queensland, on 14-16 November 2011.
