TABRESHIELD - MINIMISING BLAST DAMAGE

Aigis’ unique high performance systems replicate nature’s most effective way of protecting against explosives, by actually absorbing the energy from the blast.

Whilst there are many bulky and heavyweight answers to blast such as thick steel and concrete, many of these may actually cause as much damage as they prevent.

TABREshield systems stop damage by absorbing the blast energy, and thus minimising the lethal effects of both overpressure and fragmentation, as well as significantly reducing any chance of a reflected impulse striking innocent passers-by.

TABRESHIELD BUILDING PROTECTION

A car bomb in an airport car park or near the airport terminal building poses a threat to all who arrive at the airport. Something as simple as a suspect package left near a structural wall or pillar threatens damage to building and can cause hours of delays and disruptions.

Aigis' TABREshield building protection reinforces sensitive structures and minimises damage from any blasts. This building protection system will reduce the required safety distance between the structure and any potential explosion. It is thus ideal for terminal infrastructure and other sensitive airport buildings.

BLAST PROTECTIVE ROOMS AND ISOLATION UNITS

TABREshield blast protected rooms provide a safe location for airports to manage explosion threats. Effective and discreet, these rooms are the ideal location for suspected bombers and baggage reconciliation.

The TABREshield Isolation Unit 2000 or the TABREshield Isolation Unit 1200 contains explosives destined for an aircraft hold found by screening (hold baggage screening) or false positives. When the screening process finds a suspect package or baggage, the suspect device is simply placed, usually without human intervention, within an Aigis mobile isolation unit and removed to a safe place, protecting staff and at the same time avoiding costly disruption.

TABREshield protected lockers are also available to contain any blasts from left luggage.

In case of bombs exploding while in the screening machine, TABREshield Scannershield modular walls are available. These modular walls, which are placed between screening machines, protect personnel, passengers and equipment from an exploding baggage scanner.
