Designers and manufacturers of alarm, signal, control and communications equipment since 1975, MEDC have developed a range of products specifically designed for use in harsh airport environments.

MEDC have pioneered the use of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) in explosion-proof products. The advantages of GRP products are:

The innovative use of GRP has now been extended to include a range of uncertified equipment for use in unpredictable airport environments.

AIRPORT CONTROL STATIONS

These control stations are suitable for use in all gas groups including hydrogen. These rugged enclosures are corrosion free and manufactured from UV stable, glass-reinforced polyester.

NEXT TWO RANGE OF AIRPORT LOUDSPEAKERS

MEDC are proud to introduce our Next Two range of airport loudspeakers which can be used in areas which do not require certification. All our loudspeakers are explosion-proof for use in potentially hazardous airport environments. Due to our GRP technology we can offer a cost effective, robust and corrosion-free solution to metal loudspeakers. With power ratings up to 25W this range is suitable for PA and VA applications.

MANUAL CALL POINTS AND ALARM BELLS

Our manual call points are available in breakglass and pushbutton versions. These call points are explosion-proof and flameproof. A variety of body colours, lift flaps and resistors are available

Our explosion-proof alarm bells are manufactured from cast iron and are available in direct and alternating current versions. Similarly to our manual call points, we can paint our alarm bells to each customer's specification.

LAMPS AND BEACONS FOR AIRPORTS

Our explosion-proof status lights are available with the following lights:

• Xenon
• Filament
• Fluorescent

MEDC's certified beacons are suitable for airports because they are:

• Lightweight
• Corrosion resistant

Our beacons are available in LED, xenon, rotating, beacon and sounder combination, and steady beacon versions.

SOUNDERS AND HORNS

We have recently launched a new voice sounder which offers up to 20 seconds of speech. This is recorded via an integral microphone or an input from an external source. The unit incorporates a variable delay, allowing speech to be repeated at equal intervals of up to approximately 15 seconds; ideal for airport sound systems.

All our sounders are lightweight, flameproof and have been designed for the most dangerous airport environments. Outputs of 103dB to 118dB at 1m are available.
