Bouyer owes its leadership in the public address systems market to a long tradition of designing and manufacturing quality electro-acoustic equipment. To complement its product range, Bouyer has always worked at expanding its engineering capabilities to deliver solutions for the service and industrial sectors. PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEMS FOR AIRPORTSIn particular, Bouyer has a great many years of experience in producing Public Address (PA) systems for the air passenger transport sector. The sound system architecture offered by Bouyer is designed to broadcast both background music and public announcements, though it is equally capable of incorporating other related functions such as visual signalling, or interfacing with other systems such as display panel controls or chronometric equipment. The sheer size of major airports today means that public address systems need to be capable of expanding in line with the creation of new zones. Systems also need to be modular so they can be adapted to new or changing uses in different parts of the airport (passenger halls, retail areas, etc.). BEEVOX: CONTROLLING PA SYSTEMS REMOTELYFaced with these issues, the Emirate of Sharjah’s International Airport chose BeeVox to manage the sound system fitted to its latest building extension. This software solution, which allows the user to manage and maintain their sound systems remotely via the Internet, can be adapted to any type of single or multi-site architecture. Sharjah International Airport is divided into 30 zones comprising halls, corridors, terminals and counters, and they are all managed using Bouyer’s digital solution. REMOTE CONTROL OF THE AIRPORT’S LOUDSPEAKERSPrior to the installation, an acoustic model for the area to be covered was produced to determine speaker types, number and positioning. In all, more than 600 Bouyer loudspeakers of all types were fitted, including ceiling speakers, sound projectors, compact speakers and sound columns. BeeVox is used to manage all of the site’s emergency microphone, amplifier and speaker channels, via the various channel surveillance modules making up the sound safety system. BOUYER SOUND SECURITY EQUIPMENTBouyer also supplied the same sound security equipment to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. The sound safety system installed meets Dutch NEN 2575 standard, which goes beyond the usual EN 60849 European Safety Standard, even describing the exact ergonomic rule to incorporate in the design of the safety console.
