FG Wilson - Diesel, Gas and Bi-Fuel Generating Sets

FG Wilson is the largest generating set manufacturer in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. With a global network of over 200 dealers, FG Wilson export over 90% of their generating sets to over 170 countries. Its product range runs varies in output from 5.5kVA to 50 x 800kVA. The company's Power Solutions Team also custom-build generator sets to meet any individual requirement. FG Wilson's generating sets are used in a variety of applications and businesses either as the prime power source, or as protection against the risk of power failure.

GENERATORS IN THE AVIATION INDUSTRY

A number of airports have chosen FG Wilson generating sets to meet their power supply needs. These include:

  • Aeropuerto A.M.B. – Chile
  • Alepo Airport – Syria
  • Helsinki Airport – Finland
  • Kai Tak Airport – Hong Kong
  • Lhasa Airport – China
  • Lungi Int. Airport – Sierra Leone
  • Newcastle Airport – United Kingdom
  • Phuket Airport – Thailand
  • Sheremetjevo Airport – Russia
  • Skopje Airport – Macedonia
  • Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv Airports – Bulgaria

BI-FUEL GENERATING SETS

FG Wilson has developed a combination of diesel and gas generators to achieve the best from both fuels, and has created bi-fuel powered generating sets. They operate on a mixture of 70% natural gas and 30% diesel, which gives many advantages over current fuels:

  • Cleaner emissions
  • Diesel generating set power ratings maintained
  • Lower running costs
  • Lower weight

GENERATOR PRODUCTION AND TESTING

FG Wilson continuously upgrade their facilities to keep abreast of the latest manufacturing technology. The company's main production site in Larne, Northern Ireland, produces over 55,000 generating sets per annum. FG Wilson also boasts two of the largest state-of-the-art industrial powder coating plants in Europe, capable of painting 55,000 fabricated metal parts per week.

GENERATOR TESTING FACILITY

FG Wilson's Larne facility also has a vast testing capacity with over 40 individual test bays, including three high-voltage termination cubicles capable of testing up to 13.8kV. The company has recently invested in building the largest acoustic testing centre in Europe. This includes an engine test cell, a hemi-anechoic (echo-free) chamber and a reverberation room. The facility is designed to reduce production costs, optimise product performance and minimise the environmental impact of generator noise.

AFTER SALES SERVICING

FG Wilson's dealers can also offer customers specialised after sales service. The dealer network is supported by the Technical Service Centre (TSC) at FG Wilson headquarters, where highly skilled engineers are available to assist with all queries relating to power needs. With every project delivered by the FG Wilson Power Solutions team comes yet another strong working relationship with a client. FG Wilson highly values these relationships with clients and will continue to build on them to remain the first choice supplier for all their power needs.
