Sontranic has been involved in aviation constant current regulators for over 30 years, and have vast experience in design, development, supply and commissioning of such products. CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATOR RANGEOur constant current regulators include the trusted XR400; the state-of-the-art, microprocessor-controlled regulator MCR400; the compact CR200; and the military specification variants the XR405 and the MCR405. We have equipped hundreds of airports, airfields and helipads at locations both within the UK and overseas. You may recognise these constant current regulators as those supplied by Alstom or (previously) by Cegelec or GEC. What you may not have known is that the Alstom constant current regulators you rely on for your airfield ground lighting control were designed, manufactured and supplied by Sontranic. CUSTOMISABLE CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATORSSontranic regulators are easy to set-up, work straight out of the box, and have a robust construction to ensure long life. All parts are easily accessible for servicing or replacement without special tools. We can configure our constant current regulators with many options to meet your precise requirements. All our constant current regulators can be supplied with 200V to 250V or 380V to 450V single-phase input at 6.6A or 12A output to appropriate loads from 1.5kW to 30kW. Other currents can be supplied to order. XR400 AND XR405 MILITARY CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATORSThe XR400 has been in production since 1989 and continues to provide the highest levels of reliability at many locations around the world. It has been continually up-dated and is still current for today's market. As an option the unit can also be provided with integral circuit selectors to supply up to five output circuits. The XR405 is produced to the relevant standards for military bases. MICROPROCESSOR-CONTROLLED CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATORSWe also supply two constant current regulators for serial data-link communication: the MCR400 and MCR405. The MCR400 was developed by Sontranic and introduced in 2004 in response to the requirement for microprocessor control. With the addition of a standard high-speed serial data communication port, the regulator is able to communicate with most PC or PLC control systems, and many options are fitted as standard (see the features list below). As with the XR range the integral circuit selectors can be provided as an option to supply up to five output circuits. The MCR405 constant current regulator has been developed to meet the relevant standards for military bases. CR200 AVIATION CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATORThis constant current regulator was developed in 2001 in response to the needs of smaller airports and helipads where space is at a premium. The units are stackable and deliver similar functionality to the XR400 from a smaller cabinet. The range of output is 1.5kW to 7.5kW and is supplied as a single output unit. A remote circuit selector box can be supplied to achieve multiple outputs. PORTABLE TRAILER OR SKID-MOUNTED REGULATORSWe also produce to order portable constant current regulators that are trailer or skid-mounted regulators in lockable enclosures that can be incorporated into lighting systems for any length of runway. These units are ideal for emergency airfields, temporary airfields or for temporary lighting during construction work. CONSTANT CURRENT REGULATOR FEATURESOptions that can be incorporated into our constant current regulators include:
CIRCUIT SELECTOR BOXES, STATIC SWITCHES, INLINE CURRENT METERS AND TRAINING COURSESWe also offer a range of supporting products and services, including circuit selector boxes, static switches, inline current meters and various training courses.
