LIF-QUALIFIED LIGHTING ENGINEERS

Kingfisher’s field engineers and internal lighting applications team are either working towards or have been awarded the Lighting Industry Federation (LIF) advanced lighting qualification, enabling the company to offer first-class engineered solutions for each application.

A full auto-cad lighting design service is offered free of charge.

LIGHTING MASTS WITH A RAISE AND LOWER HEAD FRAME

Kingfisher lighting masts are available in heights ranging between 15m and 60m. They can be provided as fixed lighting masts or with a Raise and Lower (R&L) head frame. The masts for airport lighting systems are generally between 20m and 35m in height and are supplied with an R&L head frame.

The R&L high masts are generally comprised of the following:

• Shaft
• Top-fixed head frame
• Mobile head frame supporting the lanterns and gears
• Hoisting unit

SAFER HIGH-MAST AIRPORT LIGHTING

Our high-mast airport lighting systems have many technical / active and passive safety features. A push-button panel operates the raising and lowering device, with an extension cable for remote safety control. The high masts also have a safety brake system to prevent the head frame from falling in the unlikely case of a steel rope failure.

Other safety features include:

• Trolley-mounted hoisting unit on wheels for ease of use and convenient movement from one mast to another
• Mechanical latching device, which secures the mobile head frame while it is at the top of the mast, relieving permanent tension on the steel ropes
• Spring steel roller arms and a self-centring guide system to prevent the head frame from oscillating, reducing the wear on the steel ropes, and preventing the suspension ropes and electric cable becoming entangled
• Head frame supports to relieve the tension on the steel ropes whilst the luminaries are in the lowered position
• Ability to test the luminaires at ground level
