Clampco Sistemi - Medium and Low Intensity Obstruction Lights

Clampco Sistemi designs, manufactures and supplies complete Aircraft Warning Light Systems (AWLS) intended for day / night lighting of extensive obstacles, such as telecommunication masts, chimneys, buildings and power distribution lines.

Our product complies with ICAO Annex 14, chapter six - 'Visual aids for denoting obstacles' and FAA Ad.Cir. 150/5345-43E - 'Specification for obstruction lighting equipment'.

Clampco Sistemi is able to provide a complete turnkey solution as well as individual system components. The main components are:

• Lightning arrester modules

LOW-INTENSITY, OMNIDIRECTIONAL, FIXED RED LED OBSTRUCTION LIGHT

The low-intensity obstruction light is available in two configurations: a single light unit and a double light unit. The main is normally operating and the other one is in stand-by. When the main is burned out there is an automatic switching to the stand-by unit.

Light characteristics as ICAO type A or B are obtained using LED array bulbs. The obstruction light is powered by an electronic constant current regulator at 12VDC, 48VDC or 230VAC.

Enclosures are made of a die-cast aluminium alloy and hot dip galvanised steel epoxy coating and internal electronic circuits are tropicalised.

MEDIUM-INTENSITY, OMNIDIRECTIONAL, FLASHING RED LED OBSTRUCTION LIGHT

The medium-intensity flashing red obstruction light is available in single configuration. The single beacon can be configured as a 'main' or 'stand-by' unit. Light characteristics as ICAO type B are obtained using LED array bulb. The obstruction light is powered by a 48VDC electronic circuit.

The cap of transparent polycarbonate that is unbreakable and flame retardant, is lens shaped (patent pending) to ensure the required light radiation pattern. Enclosures are made of die-cast aluminium and components are coated with a layer of aluminium oxide through an anodic oxidation process.

TYPE W OMNIDIRECTIONAL, FLASHING RED OBSTRUCTION LIGHT FOR WIND TURBINES

Clampco Sistemi's Aircraft Warning Light Systems (AWLS) have been designed and manufactured to ensure the highest reliability and compliance with national regulations for marking air traffic obstructions - 'Richtlinie zur Kennzeichung von Luftfahrthindernissen' issued by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing.

According to general administration regulation for the marking and lighting of obstacles for navigation published in NfL 4/05 a couple of flashing obstruction lights must installed on the top of a wind turbine infrastructure. The flashing frequency, light intensity as well as horizontal and vertical beams are fully compliant with recommendations. The two obstruction lights (main and main) flash in synchronisation.

POWER TRANSMISSION OVERHEAD LINE OMNIDIRECTIONAL, FIXED RED OBSTRUCTION LIGHT

The power transmission overhead line obstruction light extracts energy from the magnetic field surrounding the power distribution wire. It can be directly clamped and fixed to the high voltage line conductor. The compatible HV cable diameter range is from 10mm to 38mm and compatible line voltage is up to 400kV (50Hz). The obstruction light is fitted with Clampco LED array bulbs, which combine extremely long life (100,000 hours) with the high efficiency of ultra-bright red LEDs.

Weighing about 5kg and with overall dimensions of 150mmx150mmx350mm, overhead line obstruction lights are easy to install onto power lines due to their compact and light design and convenient locking system.

The device is activated at night by an internal photosensor.

OBSTRUCTION LIGHT FOR EXPLOSION-PROOF APPLICATIONS

Clampco Sistemi provides AWLS in explosion-proof versions in compliance with European standards EN50-014 and EN50.0 as well international recommendation IEC 79.1. Each Clampco Sistemi obstruction light can be equipped in an EExd enclosure with the suitable execution, type, temperature class and IP protection level.

Enclosures are made of copper-free aluminium alloy with an epoxy coating. On request Clampco Sistemi also provides armoured wire cable and glands.
