Ground run-up enclosures

With increasing concern and tighter legislation over noise emissions, GREs are becoming the must have for many airlines and aircraft maintenance organisations. The next generation IAC GRE offers excellent acoustic and aerodynamic performance: reducing noise emissions whilst benefitting operational availability.

The GRE is an essential resource required by airlines and maintenance organisations to maintain fleets and ensure maximum aircraft availability and it is the availability of the GRE itself that is key to this being achievable.  

Taking the proven performance of its existing ground run-up enclosures in the field, IAC Global Aviation has utilised this wealth of test facility experience and state of the art computer modelling techniques to develop unique design features that optimise the GRE availability and most particularly address otherwise limiting wind conditions.

The resulting design proudly represents the 'next generation' on-wing aircraft test facility.

The next generation GRE is constructed using (patent pending) sections (Jetshield™ and Aerowall™), comprising a combination of rugged steel, concrete, IAC Noishield™ acoustic panels and Powerflow™ silencers. The tried and tested IAC products which form the basis of the GRE are backed by certified performance data from our laboratory in New York and are used all over the world.

Jet blast barriers

lAC Global Aviation designs, manufactures and installs high performance jet blast barriers for a wide range of airport and military solutions including aircraft maneuvering areas and perimeters and can also cater for afterburner needs if required.

Jet engine blast barriers reduce the damaging and dangerous effects of aircraft engine blast by means of deviation and reduction of the high velocity of gases, air and heat.

IAC Global Aviation barriers are of galvanized steel construction for long life, and have an aesthetic slim line appearance. Barriers can either fix directly to the ground or mount onto concrete blocks that are easy to move by forklift truck.

The barrier is modular in design and as such is reusable, easy to relocate and extend. IAC Global Aviation can also provide the latest CAA approved red warning lights that are visible for 360° around, 270° upwards and effective in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +55°C with an IP65 rating.

Airport acoustic barriers

IAC Global Aviation designs, manufactures and installs a complete range of certified, high performance acoustic barriers for airport noise control solutions. Our acoustic barriers are used by airports around the world to protect their local communities from unwanted aircraft noise.

We offer our customers a complete turnkey acoustic barrier solution. From our initial acoustic mapping and analysis of your airport and sound attenuation requirements, we then recommend the correct barrier to meet your needs.

Of our three barrier types, absorptive freestanding barriers are the optimal choice for airport applications. These are sound absorptive on one or both sides and offer excellent sound transmission loss. They are quick to assemble and comprise prefabricated components that are lighter and easier to install than concrete barriers.

Head of stand cabins

The Fli-pod head or stand cabin is a multi-purpose, acoustic ground operations environment that enables airport ground staff to turnaround an aircraft more efficiently and quickly than ever before. Situated at head of stand, the Fli-pod brings all ground handling operations under one roof. High sound reduction allows deployment of the Fli-pod to be close to the aircraft.

Initially developed for British Airways at London Heathrow Airport, the Fli-pod combines innovation and engineering in a single package. The Fli-pod's unique design provides teams on the ground with all the features and convenience required to perform their job efficiently. The Fli-pod provides baggage handlers, maintenance staff and ground crew with a safe, quiet, fully equipped work environment with access to all the systems they require. A lockable tool storage facility on the exterior of each unit provides maintenance teams with the ability to store essential equipment.
