Drainage channels and surface drainage for airports

Airports make the highest possible demands on the load-bearing abilities of drainage channels. HAURATON's product ranges meet all of the demands of an airport and the EN 1433 standard.

Drainage and retention system for larger areas

The RECYFIX® HICAP® drainage system has been developed for special drainage functions. The channel system is used for draining large areas and simultaneously serves as a retention space.

The drainage channel system holds large volumes of surface water, guides it over large distances and at one point directs it to the main channel. The system offers very high hydraulic capacity for increasing drainage averages. This creates a large backwater reserve. At the same time it offers the option to restrict the water output to the main water channel and to slowly release the collected water into the sewage network.

The RECYFIX HICAP F and RECYFIX HICAP G product ranges offer:

• Drainage and retention in one assembly
• Channel bodies made of eco-friendly, recycled and non-breakable PE-PP. They are very lightweight, easy to install, non-breakable and easily connected with groove and tongue joints
• Grating versions:
  Type F: PE-PP funnels with integrated gratings on top, made of high-quality spheroid ductile iron GGG-50
  Type G: channel top completely made of spheroid ductile iron GGG-50

Concrete drainage systems

FASERFIX® is a highly stable drainage channel system that is made from fibre reinforced concrete.

FASERFIX SUPER has:

High-capacity drainage system for UK airport

HAURATON was involved in redevelopment of the Newquay, Cornwall airport, which started in 2007 and took three years to complete and included the re-surfacing of the 2745m runway, aircraft hard-standing areas and widened taxiways.

HAURATON's high-capacity RECYFIX HICAP channels were chosen for the project. Made from specially formulated recycled polyethylene-polypropylene (PE-PP), each of the 1m RECYFIX HICAP channel used weighed 13.2kg so only required a one-man-lift of the component. This made for easy installation for the contractor, Cormac, who also found the combination of a tough PE-PP channel and ductile iron slotted inlet resisted site damage during installation.
