EK 35® - RUNWAY DUST CONTROL AND SURFACE STABILIZATION

EK 35 is applied neat to gravel runway surfaces providing a dual, patent-pending mechanism for dust control and surface stabilization. EK 35 works well with all aggregate materials to effectively stabilize fine and loose surface materials. Surfaces treated with EK 35 are reworkable and feature a continuously active suppressant that is resistant to rain for long periods of time.

EK 35 will stop the cycle of runway deterioration caused by dust, watering, grading, lost aggregate and traffic on gravel runways. EK 35 will preserve the fines, increase density and maintain the stability of the surface.

SOIL-SEMENT® - RUNWAY EROSION CONTROL

Soil-Sement is a polymer emulsion erosion control agent that will seal runway shoulders to eliminate FOD, control dust and prevent erosion. It controls dust emissions on construction areas, disturbed surfaces and unpaved truck traffic areas by binding the surface particles into a uniform matrix. Applications can last a year or more and will have a cumulative effect.

Soil-Sement is also highly effective for helicopter landing pads to keep dust blown by rotor turbulence from being taken into the motors bearings and gears. Soil-Sement produces a water resistant surface that withstands both low and high temperatures.

GLIDEX® - AIRPORT TRACK SWITCH LUBRICANT

Glidex track switch lubricant is a synthetic lubricant that is easily sprayed, poured or brushed onto the switch plates for tracked people-movers within airports. It has an excellent capillary action to coat the bottom of the switch rail. Glidex is not water-soluble so it withstands wet weather extremely well and reduces the torque required to throw a switch and increases the throw time.

Additionally Glidex will not collect dust and dirt so it doesn't pack-up or harden. The unique formulation allows it to be used year round without the need for a winter and summer formulation.

ICE FREE SWITCH® - TRACK SWITCH ANTI-ICING PRE-TREATMENT

Ice Free Switch is an anti-icing pre-treatment for track switches on airport people-movers to melt falling and blowing snow to keep track switches from freezing down to a temperature of -55ºC. The Ice Free Switch produces a coating on the switch that does not allow the metal to freeze and in addition lubricates the switch components.

Ice Free Switch incorporates technology licensed from NASA / AMES Research Institute that makes the fluid non-Newtonian to allow it to remain in place even on vertical surfaces. It also works well in flange ways, door tracks, signal lenses, and other areas prone to snow and ice build-up.

ZERO GRAVITY THIRD RAIL ANTI-ICER® - ELECTRIFIED THIRD RAIL ANTI-ICING

Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer is specifically developed for the anti-icing of electrified third rail people movers. A coating is applied to the power rail prior to ice forming or snow falling to prevent the rail from glazing to enable continuous power supply to trains.

Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer incorporates technology licensed from NASA / AMES Research Institute, which makes Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer non-Newtonian so it stays in place and prevents run-off. When static, Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer has a very high viscosity, yet under the slightest shear will lower the viscosity so applications are easily applied at low temperatures.

Midwest Industrial Supply, Inc. also designs and builds Ice Slicer® custom spray systems and portable units to apply Zero Gravity Third Rail Anti-Icer from passenger trains. This eliminates the need to schedule slower moving maintenance vehicles on your rail lines. It is used by mass transit, people-movers and other equipment utilizing power rails.
