Major Contract Win at Oakland International Airport

04 November 2008

ServiceTec Airport Services International today announced that it has been selected by the Port of Oakland to support Oakland International Airport’s information technology (IT) common use terminal equipment (CUTE) and related infrastructure services. Following a competitive RFP process, ServiceTec was chosen to provide support for a wide range of the airport’s IT infrastructure projects, including its CUTE service, preventative maintenance programs, flight information display systems (FIDS) and network support.

“Oakland International Airport is pleased to partner with ServiceTec and leverage their global experience to the benefit of our passengers and airlines,” said Steve Grossman, director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates the airport.

“We face many challenges as an airport operator. ServiceTec’s technological expertise offers us many opportunities to maintain our competitive edge,” he added.

The Port of Oakland’s selection of ServiceTec further endorses the company as a leading independent global provider of airport infrastructure support services. Under the terms of the agreement, ServiceTec will provide and train local technicians and site management personnel to deliver immediate service benefits to Oakland International.

Although the Oakland ServiceTec team will operate as an autonomous unit, they will be able to take advantage of ServiceTec’s global technical group and draw on their experience of handling different hardware platforms in different environments, such as New York JFK, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Toronto GTAA and London Heathrow.

“As an independent provider supporting airport IT common use systems, we are able to leverage our experience across multiple platforms at airports throughout the US, Canada and Europe, and bring this direct benefit to Oakland International Airport,” said Richard Hoad, business development manager for ServiceTec.
