At the Routes Europe event in Tallinn from 20 – 22 May 2012, at booth 19, Lufthansa Consulting will present a solution to help small and medium-sized airlines plan their fleets and networks. The benefit for airlines is the speed and reliability of planning and scheduling without causing additional overhead costs. The ‘Rent-a-plan’ service provides comprehensive support, data and expertise tailored to each individual airline.

The service was first introduced with Estonian Air, which has been using the approach successfully since October 2011. Last week the airline announced a 75% increase in the number of transit passengers since the start of the year. The increase in transfer traffic is a result of the implementation of the new hub and spoke strategy.

Estonian Air’s strategy was developed with the help of Lufthansa Consulting and the use of the Rent-a-plan service. It is therefore particularly fitting to present the service to the European market in the Estonian capital. It is currently in great demand, with the Brazilian airline TRIP Linhas Aéreas as the latest carrier to boost its position using the planning solution.

At Routes Europe, airlines are invited to visit the Lufthansa Consulting exhibition booth opposite Meeting Hall 3 to discuss details about the Rent-a-plan service.

"Keeping up-to-date with changes in the market is crucial for airline planning, but can be a burden on costs and resources," says Stanislav Solomko, director of Lufthansa Consulting’s network planning team. "Our one-stop-shop approach brings the sophistication of a large airline to carriers with smaller budgets."
