AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (AIMS)

Gandacar's Aeronautical Information Management System (AIMS) is designed to meet the growing demand of civil aviation authorities, carriers and aeronautical organizations. It is a reliable, efficient and user-friendly system for managing aeronautical data and communications. Our solution uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware and operating system software that makes the solution very economical and scalable.

Our AIMS product suite consists of the following systems:

  • Aeronautical Multi Service Switch (AMSS)
  • Flight Plan Management System (FPMS)
  • Aeronautical Billing System (ABS)
  • Multimedia Information Displays (MIDs)
  • Other aeronautical services

AERONAUTICAL MULTI-SERVICE SWITCH (AMSS)

The Aeronautical Multi-Service Switch (AMSS) provides complete automated message handling capability for AFTN centres in accordance with the recommendations of ICAO.

The AMSS system ensures the basic functions required for aeronautical message switching centre:

  • AFTN and SITA traffic storage
  • Online and scalable system operation and control
  • Traffic, journal and statistic storage (short and long term)

AMSS also supports the following protocols or facilities:

  • ATN/AFTN gateway
  • Access to telex network
  • WMO and/or SITA gateway
  • AFTN and SITA exchanges over X.25
  • AFTN access to CIDIN, NADIN I and II in X.25

FLIGHT PLAN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Flight Plan Management System (FPMS) processes real-time flight information and can print flight strips automatically. The system provides billing information to the billing server for processing.

AERONAUTICAL BILLING SYSTEM

Designed to serve aeronautical organizations, the AMSS includes a billing system based on message usage. Billing information is taken for the AMSS and processed into various billing reports.

MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM (MIDS)

The Multimedia Information Display System (MIDS) is ideally suited to provide essential flight arrival and departure information. The MIDS incorporates features such as a check-in counter, baggage claim, airport terminal announcements, entertainment and the re-broadcasting of local TV channels.

These features improve the quality of services to passengers and airport terminal personnel. The system can be used as a vehicle to generate additional revenue for the airport authorities.

INTELLIGENT PROTOCOL CONVERTER (IPC)

The Intelligent Protocol Converter (IPC) accommodates free-flowing protocol conversion from an asynchronous interface to the ICAO category B protocol on an X.25 interface. It achieves speed conversion through its ability to queue and buffer incoming messages on a hard disk prior to transmission on the outgoing line.

The IPC has been certified for operation with the Federal Aviation Administration's NADIN system.

INTELLIGENT AFTN WORKSTATION

The intelligent AFTN workstation is a reliable and efficient tool for aeronautical communications. The workstation can be connected to systems that are based on modern distributed processing technology using a Local Area Network (LAN).

Operators are provided with passwords to gain access to the workstation. There are more than 20 different forms available to help operators generate correctly formatted messages. Prior to transmission, all messages are verified to ensure that they comply with ICAO or ATA/IATA protocols. When a message is received at the workstation, the message can be printed or displayed on the screen. The workstation archives all transmitted and received messages.

ROBUST AERONAUTICAL SOLUTIONS

Gandacar continues to meet the growing demand of civil aviation authorities with our robust aeronautical solutions. Clients may select from a variety of off-the-shelf applications.

Gandacar also develops custom software applications based on a variety of operating systems. Gandacar encourages client participation in all project phases. Source code licenses are available for all of our aeronautical technology products, including applications and telecommunications protocol support.
