Zenitel, international market leader in integrated communication solutions for the professional market, is pleased to announce a new radio infrastructure contract between Zenitel Denmark and BaneDanmark (Danish Rail Net). Commencing on 1st January 2008, Zenitel Denmark will provide radio infrastructure, operations and maintenance services for Danish Rail Net's traffic information systems located on railway stations nationwide. The contract is for a four-year period and covers BaneDanmark's traffic information systems, monitors, loudspeakers, and clocks (except S-train and local trains), and the connected IT-systems and back-up thereof.
WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER
IT operations manager Kim Remmer, BaneDanmark comments "Zenitel Denmark's proposal differentiated significantly from the tender's other participants. It was influenced by innovative solutions and was also the tender that fulfilled the tender qualification requirements best". The innovation has for instance, been expressed through cooperation between the Silkeborg workman's ladder factory and Zenitel, where an entirely new type of ladder has been created for the purpose of being used whenever monitors, loudspeakers and clocks are to be repaired or cleaned.
Traditional ladders require an additional man on the ground securing the safety of the ladder. Zenitel's innovative new ladder has a supportive leg which prevents accidents from happening, and allows additional maintenance personnel to be employed elsewhere. The ladder is about to be approved by the Danish Working Environment Authority.
STRICT QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
"The radio infrastructure solution Zenitel has defined supports Danish Rail Net's desire to supply traffic information of high quality to the train passengers nationwide. This field of expertise is especially important to us, and with this contract we strengthen among other things the quality through faster trial and error corrections, and increased maintenance," adds Kim Remmer.
He continues "A vital criteria in assessing the tenders have been towards excellent quality and consistency of supply, and the ability to be a proactive collaborator. We have great confidence in Zenitel and for this contract to lift the quality of Danish Rail Net's traffic information systems".
RECRUITMENT PROCESS UNDERWAY
Zenitel Denmark is already in the process of recruiting highly skilled candidates for the twelve positions that are needed to strengthen the service department further. Zenitel must solve problems nationwide within two hours from receiving a request. "It is our clear objective to service Danish Rail Net to the best of our abilities. Moreover, in general Zenitel Denmark will be strengthened, so we will be even better and faster at nationwide service which our other customers also will benefit greatly from," says David Fleischer, managing director of Zenitel Denmark.
It is not the first time Danish Rail Net has placed an order with Zenitel Denmark. Since 1st January 2006 the company has maintained Danish Rail Net's radio infrastructure. In the continuous performance and quality measurements which is part of this work, Zenitel has achieved a very high score.
